Getting rid of silkscrean on bPlace layer

nmbr6
nmbr6 over 9 years ago

Hi all,

I'm working on a board very loosely based on Adafruit's NeoPixel FeatherWing - 4x8 RGB LED (https://www.adafruit.com/products/2945

Problem is - Adafruit's logo is imprinted in the bPlace layer and I just can't get rid of it, no matter what I do.

Any ideas how to do this??

Thanks!

Hello, I just downloaded it from the link and I can delete the Adafruit logo fine. You need to turn on bPlace AND bOrigins and then you will see the origin for the logo. You can then go into delete mode…

Couple of things you can check...

    a) Is the bOrigins layer visible/turned on?   If not you won't be able to

select stuff on the bottom layer.

    b) Are you sure that the logo is really on the bPlace layer?   Try turning

off all layers and then turn them back one one by one until you find the

layer that makes the logo visible.   Depending on the tools used to import

the bitmap logo it may be appearing on a different layer than you expect.

Definatly in the bPlace layer... I only had this one on.

You can download the original design here and see for yourself:

    https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-NeoPixel-FeatherWing-PCB

I got the same issue with some other Adafruit boards I was looking in though.

You're welcome :-) It's because you need bOrigins and tOrigins to be able to select anything in either the bottom or top side layers respectively. Turn off the origins and you can't select anything.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

... for an appropriate value of "anything". Things you draw directly on

the board, such as "wires" or "circles", can be selected in the layer

they're on. Objects from a library are placed by origin.
