Dual stacked combo dsub connector needed

steve@teradiode.com
steve@teradiode.com over 8 years ago

I am looking for an Eagle symbol and footprint for dual stacked combo dsub connectors specifically Norcomp  179-009-413R571179-009-413R571 which is a right angle DB9/DB9 plug/receptacle with female gender lower and male upper

Typically these dual stacked DB connectors have their upper connector pin positions further away from the board edge than the lower connector.  The upper set are located at the same distance from the board edge as as a version of a single DB connector with deeper backset distance.  So it would be possible to just take an existing single DB connector with deeper setback footprint and use that.

The lower connector also has a footprint matching a single DB connector with closer backset.  However, its mounting holes are aligned with the row of pins nearest the board edge instead of centered between the two rows (as in standard for single DB connectors).

Hi, search for con-subd.lbr in the library - there you'll find a connector from NorComp. Then there search for 182-009-MALE as reference. This allows you to build your connector with the given drawing…

Check the con-subd library. Maybe you con modify something from  there.
