where to find farnell component to add to schematic

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

I'm trying to find a component through the add component feature of Eagle. Here is the Farnell part

  • Manufacturer:CAMDENBOSS
  • Order Code: 2493625
  • Manufacturer Part NoCTB0709/2CTB0709/2

I can't find this component in the available components list in Eagle, any ideas anyone how I add this component to my schematic?

thanks in advance

If it's not in the bundled libraries and Google doesn't help then you must

create it yourself using the library editor. This is explained in the

manual and there are many great tutorials just a quick search request away

which will take you from the basics through to more advanced part creation

topics. Here are a couple worth looking at:

    http://dangerousprototypes.com/2012/03/07/how-to-make-parts-in-cadsoft-eagle/

    https://learn.adafruit.com/ktowns-ultimate-creating-parts-in-eagle-tutorial/introduction

If you are doing any serious board design work with Eagle I would

personally recommend you create your own library of parts which are

consistent and specific to your needs rather than using the bundled

libraries. These are great for providing a lot of parts and examples of how

to do many different things but they vary wildly in quality and there is no

consistency so schematics draw using the them will likely look a bit of a

mess and there are no guarantees that all the PCB footprints are correct

and will work for your (or your CM's) manufacturing process. Creating your

own libraries takes a bit of time early on to get all the basics in place

but once you've started to build up a number of parts in there then

creating new ones starts to become a quicker and easier task.
