Is there any real benefit in updating from Cadsoft Eagle to the new Autodesk Eagle?
I have the pro version of cadsoft eagle, and am toying with updating.... is there any real need. Does the Autodesk product have anything new?

I also have the 7.7 pro (x3 license).
There are a few new features that I haven't tried, but neither find
worth the value considering the cost and time of ownership. With the
pricing model and as an Eagle 7 owner, this new functionality will be
more expensive than compared to a first time user, as we have most of
the features already, while a new user will get the full package. Any
new feature will not be yours to own, but you can license them for a
time period (but also stop and start the license). Of course how you
value these new features and pricing model is strictly individual and
usage specific.
To me it looks like Autodesk sales are focusing on the "makerspace"
users instead of the full range of amateur upto professionals, which I
find depressing.
I have tried to work with KiCad, and it doesn't look mature enough on
some, to me, important stuff, like managing larger devices with several
symbols with different attributes. I can smell the old-school TTL logic
same-looking unit at the base of this, and some incomplete tweaks to
modernize ang generalize it.
At the end, I am still sitting on the shelf looking down at what
happens. All the competitors seems to be very eager to lower the price
to catch some old Eagle users.
