Storing Eagle files online but editable by me

Hi. I have an Eagle sch and brd file (hobbyist only) that I work on at work and at home and am wondering if there is a way that I can store them online so I can edit them in Eagle.

It gets tiring emailing them to myself or copying to a flash drive or the like to transport them from work to home. Also it is hard to keep track of where I am up to at times.

I thought of just saving them as a text based fie in my GitHub but was thinking that there may be a better way available. Thanks for any thoughts or advice in regard to this.

Hi Rachael, you save me again and I thank you I will have to learn how to use all that but I'll give it a shot.

    Hi Peter,

I use GitLab for EAGLE file and it does work but you have to remember to commit and push the changes on one machine when you've finished so it's available to pull to your other machine when you want to use it there. It can be a bit frustrating when you realise you forgot to push changes or even more so if you don't realise changes haven't been pushed. Whilst EAGLE works with git, merging commits from different branches doesn't work reliably so trying to merge in changes from a remote that hadn't previously been pushed is problematic (and sometimes almost impossible). So for this reason, I use GIT for version control and only push to my GitLab which I wish to share something with others.

Unfortunately some of the cloud based file sharing services like DropBox, OneDrive, and GoogleDrive don't work well with EAGLE and cause issues. I have found that iCloudDrive works perfectly though and this is how I keep everything in sync between my various macs. I think there is an iCloudDrive utility for PC's now so if you have an iCloud account then that could work for you.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael
