How to Preparing Non-plated drillings

Jason
Jason over 15 years ago

Hi Richard,

My new project is a single side routing two side component placement board, some Non-plated drillings I want to prepare. I use the job called Excellon and add  new items 'Generate hole data'  and 'Generate drill data', then I select layer 45 to 'Generate hole data'  and layer 44 to 'Generate drill data', then process the job. Three file which are .drd file, .dri file and .hol file are produced. I use cam350 to open these file to check if they are all right, but the .hol file is very strange. My question is how to Preparing Non-plated drillings, is my process wrong?

    Hi Jason,

why do you think the hole file is looking strange? As far as I can see it seems to be okay. The way you generated data with the CAM Processor is correct.

    Regards,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,

I've checked over the hole layer in Cam350, I find some holes disappeared and some holes appear at the locations where they do not exist in PCB design, and the area of the holes layer is much larger than the drills layer. For example, I've set four holes in the edge of the PCB for the screw, but I can see only 2 holes in Cam, there are 2 holes appear near T1 which are not exist in PCB.

    Hi Jason,

could you send me the drill files, so I could check this with another Viewer.

    Richard
