How to create library "MyParts"

I want to create a new library with just my parts.  I want to copy devices from other libraries into "MyParts" so that I have all my parts easily accessible without sifting thru general libraries.  I know how to creat a device, modify a package etc.  But I cant seem to copy devices out of an existing library into my own library.  Please help, Tom

  • Hi Tom,

     

    copying devices or packages from one library into another is simple. Please open the library you want to copy components into with the Library editor. Arrange the EAGLE Control Panel window and the Library editor window in a way that you can see them both simultaneously.
    Now expand the Libraries branch in the Control Panel and expand the library entry you want to copy from. Click onto on of the devices in the list and keep the mouse button pressed while you move the mouse cursor into the Library editor window. Now drop it and that's it.
