Custom part design problem

I am having difficulty in designing a custom package with the right dimensions. Can you please guide towards some resources which will help me with that ?

Hi,

there is a chapter in the EAGLE manual that shows you how to create components. There is a simple example where you design a resistor and a more complex one that creates a Device consisting of several symbols and various package variants. I think this shows quite well how to create components.
There are also available some vidoes on the CadSoft website that deal with library creation.
