Make longholes with the PCBbox millingmachine of Collinbus

Hi Richard,

 

I want to use the DC-powerjack  SPC4078 from the " con jack" /jackplug library. This jack need long pads with long holes. I put this long holes in layer 46 (Milling layer) and export the data as Gerber 275x-, Excelon- and Board cut out file( layer 46). The long holes are visible in all the  drawings except the last drawing. This has happend after the toollist is generated.

I notice a difference in Eagle between a normal hole in a pad and the long hole. The long hole is not open It is only an green rectangle on the long green pad while a normal hole in a pad is black in a green pad.This probally the reason that PCbox dont make an long hole with this info. Also I want to make the cut-out border from the print in Eagle. Because i want to mill the rounded corners. I used before layer 20 and also layer 46.There is a border line vissible but the same problem as with the long hole happens.

What can I do to let it work?

    I am not quite sure what the reason could be.

    Milling contours that are drawn in layer 46 or layer 20 have to be exported into a separate Gerber file. This is what you already did, I assume. What might cause a problem is if the width of the line (wire) is set to 0. Is this the case? Width 0 is not allowed in Gerber. Maybe this is the reason why the Gerber viewer does not show the contours.....

    Could you please check?

    Hi Richard,

    I am very pleased that you respond so soon.

    About the width, i have set the with from zero to 0,1mm with the result you have seen in the word doc. I only could'nt affect the properties of the 3 longholes.These long holes are implemented in the footprint of the  DC-powerjack  SPC4078. Now, In the milling layer, i have tried to lay over three solid rectangles over the open rectangles in the footprint of the powerjack. Also without an positive result.

     

    What is the difference inside a normal hole (Black inside) and the open rectangle in the footprint? I have the feeling that the embedded info like drillsize or milling size is not given in that rectangle to the Gerberfile.

    From Collinbus, the same firm as FranklinIndustries in Belgium I got an Job file "Franklin 2-layer format 2.cam" what i enclose herewith. Maybe there is a problem with importing the Gerber and Excellon files?
