the rip ! GND V+ command doesnt work for me on the demo2.brd (or any other board).  instead it highlights the negated routes (GND & V+) and doesnt rip up the rest of the routes.  i tried previous and the latest 6.4 s/w.  same problem.  any ideas?  or is it something i'm not seeing in the tutorial?

    Hi Ron,

    please type in the command line

    rip ! GND V+ ;

    You have to add the semicolon in the end of the line or click onto the Go icon in order to execute this command.

    Regards,

    Richard

    i never thought to use the semi colon.  thanks for the solution.   i've had numerous difficulties with the tutorial but havent listed them. the creation of custom parts leads the pack.  is there a better tutorial i can download for that matter?  also, i'd like to drag various packages and symbols from existing libraries into my own custom library. can that be done without causing problems?   thanks again.

    Hi Ron,

    the semicolon is the signal that says "execute this command". It is the same as clicking onto the GO icon.

    For library definition, please take a look into the manual of EAGLE. There is an extensive chapter about libraries. There you will also learn that you can copy packages or devices from the Control Panel's tree view into a library editor window by drag&drop.  image

    Regards,

    Richard
