Stray Outlines in PCB

Hi. I am using Eagle 6.4.0 and when I made my first board from the schematic it automatically placed the parts off the PCB area. All good so far. However when I moved the SM caps (0402 size I believe) onto the PCB area a red outline of the pads was left in their original location. The software does not seem to allow me to delete or move the pads. Anyone else experiencing this, or have a fix? Thanks.

I am not sure this will help. Be sure all the layers are displayed.

I can't make it happen now, but I do remember seeing that problem in the past. I could get the display to be correct by hitting the "Redraw" button on the Action Toolbar. At the time, I figured that it might be a glitch in the computer's graphics driver. Haven't seen that problem for a long time now.
