Eagle software

Hello All,

 

I have been working with Eagle for a bit to see if it can do what I want a program to do.  I do not think it is possible with Eagle but I have a need of making a schematic from a board design.

 

Is there a way to do schematic from board design Eagle and if not then is there a software that is out on the market that can do what I am looking to do?

 

We are a repair business and to expedite repairs then it is always best to have a schematic to work from during troubleshooting.  It is not always needed but when the time comes then it is a great tool to have.

    I don't think there is software to draw a schematic from a PCB (I'm presuming if you are in the repair business that you're working directly from the physical board).

     

    If you can obtain service manuals then they may include the schematics and the board layout.

     

    Otherwise, if you have no other source of information and just the physical board then I find MS Paint or any graphics software is your best friend. I tend to take a photo of the physical board and annotate it, e.g. like this, as I figure out what each part of the board does. If I want to, I will then sketch the area that I'm specifically interested in.

    The manufacturer of the boards I'm working with are very tight with information so no luck with service manuals.

     

    The way I approach it now is to pull off all the components and go point to point.  It is time consuming but well worth the effort with the final project. 

     

    I appreciate the feedback so I can discontinue my search of a software that does not exist.
