How do you implement a Single Point Ground in Eagle?

ddamron
ddamron over 15 years ago

I'm involved in a circuit I'm trying to develop that requires a single point ground.

This circuit is a high current Driver, and the datasheet for the chip I'm using strongly urges the use of a single point ground.

Let me explain...

High Voltage / Current coming into the board, first hits a 100uF electrolytic to suppress spikes.

I need to basically separate my grounds as if they are two signals, ie one for 'logic', and the other for 'drivers'.

The datasheet specifies to join the two grounds at the cap.

Is there any way to force this by using different signals?  ie GND vs GNDA

Regards,

I've just made a library component that is basically two small SMD pads besides each other (connected) for doing the multiple grounds & ensuring they are only connected at once point.

DRC complains a bit but once you ignore that part once in a design you should be ok..
