Eagle 6 and 5 on the same Mac?

e14 Contributor

Hi there,

Glad to see Eagle 6 is out. Does anyone know if installing it on the Mac on which I'm currently running Eagle 5 will overwrite anything? I'd like to give the freeware version a try before I buy the upgrade.

Thanks!

Andy

    Hi Andy,

it is possible to have both EAGLEs on one Mac computer. You can decide on the folder where the new EAGLE will be installed. But be careful, as soon as you save a file in the new EAGLE you can't use them in the previous version.

By the way: EAGLE 6 expects OS X 10.6 on Intel.

    Regards,

    Richard

Great - thanks Richard. If it expects 10.6 I'll see how it gets on with 10.7!
