Can't save libraries

After updating to 6.1 from 5.11 on my Mac (OS 10.7.4) I haven't been able to save new or edited libraries.  I keep getting the message:

 

Can't open '/Applications/EAGLE-6.2.0/lbr/Test.~~~'

Permission denied

 

I have checked the permissions and have set them to Read & Write for all users.  Still same problem.

    Hi David,

     

    could you please check the user rights for the EAGLE folders? Are you allowed to write in these folders?

    Or maybe there already exist a file named  /Applications/EAGLE-6.2.0/lbr/Test.~~~  ?  If yes, please delete is and try again.

    Thanks for the reply.  I have changed the permission in the get info dialog box.  I set same permission that I had on my previous version (5.11.0) which has no problems.  Also, no files with the same name.    I moved the old version folder to a different hard drive.  Also set permissions for "everyone" to Read & Write.  Would not let me change the "admin" user to Read & Write.

     

    I don't know if this matters, but when go to save the library,  the save dialog box list the file name as untitled as expected but it does not have the .lbr extension as it did in the 5.11 version.  I also manually added the extension but still the same result. 

     

    I can create a library with 5.11 and use it in 6.2 but that is somewhat of a pain.

    Hi David,

    We had the same problem with creating and saving libraries after installing Eagle 6 on MacOS.

    We have now done several installations and every time have this permissions issue after install.

    There must be something a little strange about the Eagle 6 installer.

     

    Fortunatley it is an easy fix!

    We solved it by resetting the permission on the entire Eagle folder so that the logged in user can "Read & Write".

     

    Important:

    But before closing the Info box, click the gear icon at the bottom of the window and choose "Apply to enclosed items..."

    This will set the permissions for everything inside of the Eagle folder.

    Thanks for the help.  Everything seems to be working as it should.   My mistake was that I was only setting the permissions for the Eagle program and not the entire folder.
