Text window too small after conversion to Gerberfile.

Hi Richard,

 

On the top layer is a drawing number (left on the board)  and an location place (right on the board) in the polygone  made.

After the conversion of the Eagle drawing to a Gerber file, it turns out that the text pane is not completely free of copper. 

The last characters fall away. (see attached screenshots and the Gerber_Testfile.cmp).

Is this an bug in Eagle version 6.02 ?

Can you help me out with this problem?

    Hi Richard,

     

    The Gerber_testfile.cmp was not allowed to send. But you can see the result after conversion in the second screenshot.

    Hi Jo,

     

    the CAM Processor in EAGLE has to work with the Vector font for creating manufacturing data. This font looks different than the proportional font you used in the EAGLE Layout editor. We always recommend to use vector font at least in the copper layers in the layout. There is an option that set all fonts to vector font.

     

    Here a quote from the manual:

    The option Always vector font shows and prints texts with the built-in vector

    font, independently from the originally used font. Using the Vector font

    guarantees that the output with a printer or the CAM Processor is exactly the

    same as shown in the editor window. Fonts other than vector font depend on

    the systems' settings and cannot be controlled by EAGLE. The output of non-

    vector fonts may differ from the editor's view.

    Opening the User Interface dialog from one of the Editor windows (for

    example, the Layout Editor) the Always vector font option offers an additional

    item Persistent in this drawing. Setting this option causes EAGLE to save the

    Always vector font setting in the current drawing file. So you can be quite sure

    that the layout will be shown with vector font at another's person computer

    (for example, at a board house).

     

    If you take the vector font, you have to overlay the text with a rectangle in t/brestrict layer in order to keep the area around the text free of copper.
