Can I use a usb wifi on my Cell Phone?

I have an old cell phone with no wifi. I want to be able to use wifi on it, as the data in my area costs a small fortune! The phone has a mini usb port. I was thinking and if I got a mini usb to female usb and plugged the usb wifi stick into that could I code it or modify it to work on my phone (Blackberry OS).On the pack it says that it needs windows to run, but sometimes things can work even if its don"t meet what the device needs. Also the usb wifi connector can be bought for around $20. Any and all ideas are welcome! Thank you in advance!

Hi Nathan, Good idea; however more than likely it won't work. To be able to use usb devices, your phone must first support USB host mode - which essentially means that it must be able to supply power to the usb device. I have never seen any Blackberry that has that capability. Some recent Android phone has that, but you have to first root the phone and do some tricks with the linux kernel. Then a second difficulity is to install the driver. Most Android kernels are stripped down to save memory; so if the device is not recognized, you might have to compile your own wifi driver kernel module or switch to a different kernel. All of these operations are quite involved... I don't think any Blackberry OS come even close to be able to support these hacks.
