create a trace without solder mask for manual tinning

How do I put a few traces on my board that won't be covered over with solder mask, so I can manually build them up a little with solder (to carry extra current)

    ...I think I found a way, but I better be sure before sending off for a board.

    Can I draw a polygon on the tStop layer, and that will be 'solderable' on the finished board?  A polygon will be good because I can draw just where I want to add some extra solder.

    Or is it the tCream layer???  Hopefully someone has the best/correct solution to do this.
