This piece in the photos below is the lower part of a quadcopter frame. The positive and negative patches are where the ESC's attach from each motor. If you look closely at the photos you can see that the copper is not over the entire piece, but just large enough to connect with the corresponding pads, positive on top and negative on bottom. At least this is my theory. My question is how can I control where my copper layer is ans isn't? Most of the frame is structural and does not need the copper electrical layer.
P.S. Any thoughts on how to create those bolt holes in the picture? Should I just make a Via that does not have a connection?
