about eagle 3d..

Hi Richard,

 

I have some question about program named 'eagle 3D'.

 

I'm using 'eagle 3d' and 'POV-Ray' with 'eagle cad' professional version.

 

first it is come to a successful close when I made 3D image of EAGLE 3D's example file

but, it isn't come to successful close when I made 3D image of brd file that I made.

in my opinion, EAGLE 3D's component's part name and My brd file's component's part name are mismatched each other

 

but, every time I have to edit library name when I make board (package name,symbol name, device name also..)

How can I view the 3D image of brd file that I made..?

    I am not very familiar with this 3D project, but there is good information in the internet. The guy who started this project has a web site which might be usefil. Please look at www.matwei.de. I hope this will help.

     

    Basically I think the names of the components/devices must match the names of the models in 3D.

    In the documentation to this 3D project it says:

     

    4.5 Unknown Parts

    It can be quite useful to manually assign parts. Often there is a model in the  library but no corresponding assignment. So you can assign a selectable model to  an EAGLE device. This will be saved in a file named boardname.mpd, which can  then be used in future runs.

    If you want to change an assignment you may need to edit the file “3dusrpac.dat” to delete those assignments you want to undo or delete the file itself. This file may be allocated in the instalation directory o in other place (probably in Eagle instalation directory, under “program files”).
