I used Eagle once almost 10 years ago and now relearning it with a relatively simple project - but have a couple of questions:
The board layout requires top and bottom tracks, and the autoroute in Eagle has connected them at existing component pads. No vias have been necessary. To be sure that on manufacture the two layers are connected I attempted to add vias at the relevant component pads, but I get an error message saying this cannot be done. Where Eagle had made these connections at existing pads, does it automatically place pads on both layers, so that when the component lead is soldered top and bottom, it acts as a via? I don't know how to view the board layout to see whether pads have been placed on both layers. If Eagle does not do this, how do you place the extra pads on the top layer to ensure a connection through the component hole can be made?
Also, how do you easily check the size of the component holes that will be drilled in the board? Can you only check these by looking at the information for each component or is there a special view that shows you the drilling information?
