Suggested improvement to Eagle CAD

Hi there,

I am quite new to Eagle, but I have used Cadence in the past and am familiar with it. A nice feature that Eagle could add is to allow Show Objects feature when using the Switch to Board button. Currently the board does not highlight and it would be good to have it.

Another thing which is unfamiliar to me is if I could change the highlighting of wires in Eagle CAD. Cadence Virtuoso has a nice tool where you can change the color of the wire and thus use color coding to identify signals. Would Eagle benefit from this?

I've written a ULP which creates right click context menu entries "Show in Board" and "Show in schematic" so when you right click on a component in either you can go to where it is in the other quickly and have it highlighted. If you are interested I will dig it out.

Yes I think most people who come to EAGLE from the high end tools (I've used lots of Mentor Graphics tools) find the lack of this troubling. I've raised this one previously and I think CADSoft are aware all the requests for such a feature (along with persistent highlighting!) so hopefully we'll get this sorted at some point.
