Maxim CAD Library for Cadsoft EAGLE Software

element14 provides consolidated Cadsoft EAGLE CAD libraries to reduces the efforts and time put into by our EDE customer in PCB design process while creating CAD Library for specific part in a design. The provided CAD libraries has both Symbols and Footprints (Device, Symbol & Package) information and developed as per IPC standards to meets all industrial PCB design requirements. Every CAD library has part information along with Farnell and Newark order codes which helps in creating final Bill of Materials with the suppliers order codes.

This EAGLE CAD library covers a range of Maxim devices like Clock Management, Microcontroller Memory Modulators, Power_Manageent, Controllers, Converters, Transceivers, Multiplexers, Amplifier, Potentiometers, Sensor, Drivers, Comparators etc. This library is provided in a downloadable ZIP format which includes below files:

1. Maxim Library (.lbr) file

2. List of components in the library (PDF)

3. Readme file - Gives step by step instruction on how to import and use the library file into the Cadsoft EAGLE software.

I don't know about that, but in any case, the fact is this file is old, and won't help for modern parts.

If the requirement is that you're looking for a CAD file (for EAGLE or other software) for a specific Maxim part, then if you go directly to the Maxim website and type your part number, and it will provide you with the file for the specific part in question. For EAGLE, it provides a script (.scr) file that you can execute from within a library file.

well, thanks, so maxim dont care if we use their parts ?
consider if it takes us designers shorter time to find parts with similar features, WITH updated eagle lib,
from other source, compared to making the lib our self.. just saying..

    Hi,

It's a library from 2012, last updated in May of that year. It will be missing all modern parts (and probably some old ones).

That's obsolete too. Where will you obtain the IC from?

Yes, SCART. I simply plan to create my own 8 to 1 SCART switch instead of buying one (yes, I know, they are not so much expensive, and I can easiliy find them on the internet. But you know, curiosity and experience...). I'll try to follow the tutorial. Otherwise I can use other chips, like the MAX4399 (which also does audio, but I'll have to use I²C to communicate with it)
