Updating Components in Projects

Hey,

Does anyone know a way to transfer updated library components on to the PCB or schematics without first removing them and then loading them again? I'm not talking about updating components from the Altium Vault but rather if you have made an integrated library and then update a component there and then want this change to show up in one of your projects.

I've been playing around with CircuitStudio and getting somewhat frustrated with it but I did find a way how to update components without needing to go through all of the deleting and adding. When you…

    Hi S A,

AFAIK, there is no option to transfer updates from an "updated" library from SCH to PCB without removing & placing the new component again. You'll have to re-compile the library, re-place the part and then take your changes from SCH to PCB..unless somebody knows otherwise??

    Hey,

If this is true then it will be a huge annoyance if you ever need to change component models at a late stage of a design. Especially if it is a commonly used component like a resistors or something that you could have hundreds.

Deleting and placing all of them again will be a torture and you will have to do it on the schematic and PCB separately. As much as I've tried it, changes will not be carried on to the PCB as long as the footprint is already there.

Oh fun times, CS seemed such a good option when we bought it.
