no libraries in trial

Question

I have doawnloaded the trial but there don't seem to be any real libraries. Err, how do I evaluate the software if I can't just throw a board together and see how it goes ?

I think I may have seen the same issue that Simon has. Here are the steps I have taken to duplicate the issue... 1.) Drag a part from the Altium content vault into one of my open schematic documents in a project. 2.) Drag the part just placed into my schematic document into my own custom integrated library as a component. 3.) Modify the new component in my vault (such as adding some documentation strings on the Top overlay layer and adding some pins). 4.) Also copy the footprint of the original part from the vault into a new footprint in my own custom library. 5.) Assign the footprint from the previous step to the component in my custom library. 6.) Compile my custom integrated library 7.) Delete the sacrificial part that was brought in from the Altium Content Vault from step 1 in my schematic document 8.) Drag my new custom part from my custom integrated library ..... here's where things get weird .... 9.) The schematic component at this point looks great and has the custom strings and pins I added. Also if I import changes into my layout, the footprint I created is also correct 10.) Now... I double click the component and change the reference designator (let's say from IC? to IC4 ). 11.) As soon as I click "OK" on the component properties dialog and return to the schematic layout, the component reverts to all it's original component settings. Both the footprint and the component in the schematic have reverted to their original settings/look/feel from the Altium Content Vault. Even though the part is supposedly my original. The only way I have found around this is to totally re-create the component in my custom integrated library from scratch. I have had success copying the footprint with the above steps, but I have to start from scratch on the schematic component or else it reverts back to the content vault whenever you try to edit something on it. It seems like there is an old pointer/hook that still maintains some sort of reference to the content vault part and then takes over when you attempt to annotate or alter anything on the custom part. I my case i simply created a new library and when I tried to place a part from it (a resistor) it insisted on placing the ARM chip I had placed from the vault.
