modifyed vault component changes back to original

hi,

when i copy a part from vault to my library,

i copy the symbol to a new *.SchLib file and the footprint to a new *.PcbLib file

and then i make a few changes to the symbol and footprint and save it.

then i add the new component to the schematic (*.SchDoc file), and the component looks good but if i click the component and change some value (the designator for example) the component changes back to the original vault part all the changes that i made just disappeared.

no warning or any message.

is this a bug?

is there a way to save a modified vault part localy?

This behaviour is by design and not a bug. There is a warning on the documentation page at FAQs | Online Documentation for Altium Products noting that "CircuitStudio caters for the use of vault-based components in designs, but does not permit the creation, release, or modification of such components.". Having said that I believe you can copy footprints, it is symbols that are awkward.
