PCB component edit window too large to fit screen

opeongo73

When editing a component in the pcb layout format, the window that opens is too large for my screen. At the top, it starts at the line X-Location and at the bottom it stops at Vault Name. The window is frozen and cannot be moved. However, I can change values within the part that is visible and hit return and it saves it. I am using Windows 7 Pro. with a screen resolution of 1600X900. I think this was working before so I must have done something to cause this.

Any suggestions.

Thanks.

This is not a resizable dialog so I would guess your screen settings have changed. Within Windows check your screen resolution is set to 1600x900 and also check the scaling factor is 100%.

Thanks for the reply Peter. I have checked my resolution and it is set to 1600X900 however, I don't see where I can set the scaling factor. I have checked one of the supplied demos and when I check the component, it still truncates the top and bottom of the component property dialog so it must be my system that is doing this.

There should be an option in the Windows control panel, check under Display or similar. The graphics card driver might also have its own software that can affect scaling.

I found it. Here are the steps.

    1) Control Panel-Click on "Ease of access" then select "Optimize visual display"

    2) Click on "Change the size of text and icons"

    3) Click on Smaller 100% (default) and apply. (Mine was set to 125%)

This will correct the "component property dialog" window size so that it appears properly.

    Thanks Peter.
