Importing OrCAD into CircuitStudio

mikerz

I'm attempting to import OrCAD design files (schematic and PCB) into Circuit Studio but nothing seems to be happing when using the import option.  I get a log file generated but nothing else.  I'm not finding anything useful on Altium, here or with general web searches.

"Importer Log Report
Project : Test OrCAD inport.PrjPcb

Section : Import Document - P:\03 Products\ID5002P\03 DEVELOPMENT\2000 PCB\ID5002P_COR_PCB_SCHEM_RevF00\ID5002P_COR_PCB_SCHEM_REVF00.DSN
EndSection"

Anyone with any suggestions?

Hi. What version of OrCAD were these designs saved as? V16.3 and later are not fully supported by the importer so it may be necessary to save as an earlier version.

We were on licence at the time so it was latest, which I believe is version 17.2.  I've had downloaded a trial of OrCAD to try and down version the files but it would not let me.  Also have been in contact with a design bureau and they have ben unable to down revision the files.  I've seen LogicSwap claim to be able to do the conversion but have not gone there yet.

This is quite disappointing that Altium are not supporting latest version OrCAD design files.

Does OrCAD have an export feature to save into another format that CircuitStudio can import?
