How to use and assign Nets in PCB Footprint Design

Hi,

I am evaluating Circuit Studio and creating some symbols right now. I have the footprint for an IC ready, and am trying to attach a copper region to the ground pad under the IC in order to modify the pad shape. I want to create the copper region and assign it to the same Net as the ground pad, however I cannot figure out how to have the Net property populate with anything - it only says "No Net"

Am I correct in trying to do this in the PCB Library? How can I create a net to reference within the footprint?

Leave it as 'No Net', that is normal.
When you place the part on your PCB it will be highlighted, complaining of a short circuit error.
To solve that in the CS PCB editor, select TOOLS > NETLIST > UPDATE FREE PRIMITIVES FROM COMPONENT PADS
