Parts not transferring from schematic to board

ahbushnell@hotmail.com
ahbushnell@hotmail.com over 6 years ago

I have a diode component in my schematic.  I first put in four of the diodes and then transfered them to the PCB with no problem.  I then latter tried to transfer more of the same diode and they don't transfer?  I have had this problem before.

Any suggestions?

I vaguely remember something like this happening to me while using Altium many years ago. Each time I would update the PCB from the Schematics, the same parts would get erased and I would need to lay them…

I would recommend running the Components Links command in the PCB editor. This checks the integrity of links between the schematic and PCB components and allows you to fix-up any discrepancies.

I think there are bugs here.

But I managed to make it work.

It's related to when you copy parts in a schematic.  Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.  I found if I place each part from the library instead of copying in the schematic it works better.

Another problem I observed.  When parts are imported from the schematic to the PCBA sometimes the nets get confused.  For instance one capacitor will have the wrong net attached and the other capacitor will have no nets.  If I deleted those two components from the PCBA and then re-import  it seems to fix it.

Hopefully 1.6 will come out soon and fix these problems.

    That's very helpful.

It's a manual fix for the bug.  Hopefully they will fix the bug.

This will help if there is a part in the PCBA that is not linked to a component in the schematic. Which I have had trouble with  But I was having the problem of parts not appearing in the PCBA.

    Thanks
