DXF Import not working in CS

sclifford

I am trying to import a DXF file into CS and when i do this its says its complete but nothing shows on screen.  I have the outline layer activated when i do this.  What i am i doing wrong.  I have verified on my CAD system Solid Edge it is a good and active DXF file.

"You may need to uninstall/reinstall the installation of TeighaX, the installer is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Altium\CS\System\Installation\TeighaX_Setup_3.9.0.msi. TeighaX is a 3rd party utility used during import of dxf/dwg."

I have updated the link and reinstalled the driver for the 3rd party converter ... which i might add was never installed as part of the orignial instilation.  I have tried every iteration of units the DXF/DWG converter.  My orginal file was in the units of inches when i load it in it still does not work!  I still get nothing to come in on the outline layer.  I have attached the DXF file i am using would it be possible the CS folks can try to read this file in and tell me what is wrong with my DXF file or wrong with there 3rd party program so i can aleast get a proper detailed board outline into CS.

    Thanks

    Scott

Upload the DXF file here.  I'll give it a test on my end.

    Thanks

    Hi Scott,

After clicking "Reply" look in the upper right hand corner of the reply box.  You should see "Use Advanced Editor".  Click that and then the "Attach" link will show up in the lower right hand corner.

Hmmm...strange.  I just read your other thread about loading and saving the DXF out of SolidWorks.  I've had to do this many times.  If you want a more solid (pun intended) approach, download CS v1.3.  It allows you to define the board shape from a STEP file.  I use this version solely because of this feature.  No real losses going with 1.3 vs 1.4 or 1.5.

If you hit me up through email I can get you details.

Hi Scott. You should be able to attach the file (try as a ZIP file) but if not then email the ZIP through to software@element14.com and I will take a look or try and post it online for you if you wish.
