How to use files created by CircuitMaker in CircuitStudio

I am in the process of evaluating CircuitStudio with a view towards moving from CircuitMaker. I would like to use some of my existing designs made in CircuitMaker, and I am looking for step-by-step instructions to achieve this.

Could someone provide the required instructions?

    Hi Mo,

     

    I did the same thing you did a few years back. I found where Circuitmaker stores the two projects it allows you to have on your local computer.  If you have more designs than that and if it stores in the cloud, I don't know how to get at those designs.  Local CircuitMaker files were in C:\ProgramData\Altium\CircuitMaker (00000000....00000) where the numbers are unique and appear to be a hexadecimal key. There should be a project subfolder and then another folder with a key value.  This has two more sub-folders with random key values.  In there should be the files.

     

    I was able to copy these files over into a project I generated in CS and then add them as existing files.  You cannot bring in a PCB from CircuitMaker but you can bring in the schematics and libraries.  I have used this occasionally to get footprints or schematic symbols from CircuitMaker community but it may be wise to verify their designs before using them.
