How to generate a BOM for a single schematic within a project that contains multiple schematic sheets?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering how to generate BOM for a single schematic within a project that contains multiple schematic sheets in CircuitStudio. Thus far, I have only been able to manage generating a BOM for the entire project. I recall being able to do this easily with Altium Designer, but there is some nuance to CS that I am missing. This Altium Academy video briefly covers BOM creation with CS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CaAJMwRq7I

The narrator mentions that there is an option under the Outputs tab for performing this type of operation, but they never show it being done in the video. When I click on the Outputs tab, this is all I see.

Is it actually possible to generate a BOM for a single schematic sheet that lives in a project containing multiple schematic sheets in CS? If so, what is the procedure?

Hi, I had the same question some time ago. There is a way to do this, see this post: /products/manufacturers/altium/f/forum/39663/outputs-bom-for-only-one-pcb-of-the-project It's also the way to go if…

Hi Jon, Thank you for sharing that. This technique worked perfectly for me on the first attempt. The knowledge will be put to good use!

    Hello,

I'm not aware if there is or isn't a direct way to do this.  The workaround should be to either temporarily remove the other sheets from the project and run the BOM or make a copy of the project and use the copy with only the sheet(s) you want.

You might be able to do this using variants also but that would seem to be more difficult.

Thanks tarribred61. I will give that a try.

What do you think the narrator is describing at 0:26 into the video? He mentions using the outputs tab.

I'm not sure.  I don't think you can generate a BOM there.  You can print a single schematic page as a "non-smart" PDF, that is, it does not have the embedded information and parts parameters.  Mostly I use that tab for EDIF netlists, ERC and single pin net list checks.
