30 Day Free Trial Sign In Issue

BEsquivel

I'm currently evaluating Circuit Studio as an EE CAD Tool for my start-up company, UNSPACE.

About 2 weeks ago I signed up for the 30 Day Free Trial and had no issues registering with Circuit Studio and keeping track of how many days my Trial had left. BUT, my job is a Hybrid Position and my commute is only a 10 minute drive. When I tried to Sign In with Circuit Studio from a different location than the one I was at when I originally installed the program, it wouldn't allow me to gain access to the Trial License.

At the time, I was able to troubleshoot this issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but I'm coming across the same issue again now, when I still have more than 2 weeks left on my Trial License. I'm actively working on a project with Circuit Studio and I need access to the License to meet the deadlines I have this week. Uninstalling and reinstalling the program is not working this time around.

Now, when I try to sign in, it rejects my Renewal License saying a license can only be used on ONE PC, but I've been using the exact same PC, it's just that I've been logging in from different locations that are only 10 minutes driving distance apart.

Please let me know how I can solve this issue.

     Altium Circuit Studio Development???

When will be release new version

Anyway, Altium provide the software and the licenses, so you might want to reach out to them if you have any licensing requirements.

One way or another, I think their response will speak volumes to you, to help you decide how you wish to proceed with that product.

I think there are two things here, short term and long term:

Short Term: you say you have a deadline to meet - is that a project or a deadline on the evaluation?  If the latter, I think you have your answer: Circuit Studio is not a fit CAD tool because it just isn't supported or updated. Altium have been promising a successor product for years, and it's been in Beta for years as well.  In fact, I haven't bothered checking in years and wouldn't be surprised if it has been canned.  If it is an ACTUAL project, then you're best going straight to Altium.  I know the product is nominally supported by E14, but in actuality, it isn't.

Long Term: you don't want Circuit Studio.  Focus on KiCad: it's free and fully featured.  Support here at E14 from the members is good; support on the Kicad Forum is great as well.  It's regularly updated and I doubt there is anything you need to do with it that it can't handle.

Sorry there isn't a better answer for you.

It isn't at all, the contract ended. That's why the stores also do not sell it in the way they once did if it is at all.

    I'd also second KiCad

"Support here at E14 from the members is good; support on the Kicad Forum is great as well"

And better than some commercial software! : ) Near-instant answers from the users here, and any bug I've raised on Gitlab, has been resolved quicker than I get around to downloading the latest dot-release.

Looking forward to release 8, there's a list of features in the KiCad Keynote PDF doc.

From release 7, I use several of the new features, and in particular the 'Pack and Move' (P button) feature has made PCB layout a real pleasure.. awesome being able to have such quick, fine control of sub-circuits layout on a PCB.
