Can not add 3D step model (file) to a PCB component

briandpc

I can not add a 3D step file to a PCB component

I can add an extruded shape to my component and it works and I can see it on the 3D PCB

If I try and add a 3D step file I do not see an OK button on the dialog

The 3D dialog box does is to big for the screen but I can see a Cancel button but no OK button

Thanks

While on your PCB component, go to the HOME tab.

    Select 3D BODY.

    Select GENERIC STEP MODEL.

    Click on EMBED STEP MODEL.

Find the STEP object in your menu.

    Click OK.

    Place it on your screen.

Press ESCAPE because it wants to do it twice for some reason.

Hopefully you have created your STEP model so that the origin is at the center of the object.  This makes placement easy.  To edit it, double-click the object and change rotations, standoff height, snap points and axes.  Play with it for a bit and you will understand how it works.

    see screen shot below

The dialog box is so big it will not display,  I have to more the task bar

You can see the file I selected

I do not see the OK button.  Not sure if it is not presenting it do to error or it is off page

Is the a way to reduce the dialog size ???

This requires developer's attention. It appears that you are having the same issue as someone from another post.

    Hello Brian,

I do see this problem whenever I am on a Windows 10 machine due to the new DPI configuration. Unfortunately, some windows of CircuitStudio does not scale itself according to the new DPI scale in Windows 10. As a workaround, please perform the following:

    1. Go to Start >> Display Setting

    image

    2. Change the DPI to 100%. Without clicking on OK, go back to Circuit Studio

    image

    3. You should now see every software's window change with respect to the 100% DPI. In Circuit Studio, you could now see the OK button when you click on 3D body.

    image

    4. Obviously your window is now too small to be workable if you do not have an external monitor. Thus, after you are done with placing 3D bodies, please go back to Display setting and revert it back to 125%.

Please let me know how this goes, thank you.

    Regards,

    SolidCore Consulting
