Board outline in Gerber files

Hi,

I've recently got my Gerber files rejected by a manufacturer for not having PCB outline in .GKO file (keepout layer). However i can see no way of getting my outline on .GKO. Can someone, please, explain how to correctly generate Gerber files from Altium CS? Official documentation and YT tutorials do not seem to contain much information regarding this topic.

You can either draw (or copy) your board outline onto the keepout layer for .GKO or define your board outline on a mechanical layer and include in every plot using the tick boxes when configuring Gerber output.

    Hi Jakub,

I use this tutorial (How to: Altium Circuit Maker PCB to OSH-Park – Jara's Spare Time Electronics ) to prepare the outputs from CircuitMaker and CircuitStudio and it has worked great with various board manufacturers including Osh Park and Advanced Circuits.  Hope this helps.

Thank You for answers! I solved the problem in the following way:

    1) draw the board edge on outline (mech1) layer with arcs and lines

    2) selected these primitives and defined the board's shape form them - CS has a special feature for that

as a result I got nice and easy to export edge layer which matched the 3D model nearly ideally. Manufacturer finally accepted the edge layer in .outlie gerber file. I believe that putting that data on .GKO layer is a relic of some kind from older CAD software but I might be wrong.
