Circuit Studio doesn't answer when I created new PCB project on Windows 10 pro

Hi All

I just bought Circuit Studio license and install program on my new laptop which has Windows 10 pro 64 bit. I downloaded Circuit Studio 1.4 version. 1.4 version workes fine on my old laptop which has Windows 7 pro 64 bit but it doesn't work properly on Windows 10 pro 64 bit version.

My problem is when I tried to make a new PCB project, Circuit Studio doesn't answer. I selected "Blank PCB Project" and click OK button then Circuit Studio doesn't answer. All templates results are same. I think it causes from Windows 10 permissions but I didn't found any document. Could you help me to solve this problem ?

Hi, you mention v1.4 but there was a v1.4.1 release to address some Windows 10 issues amongst other things. Is it possible for you to upgrade and try using 1.4.1?

Sorry for wrong information, new computer has version 1.4.1 (Build 99). Old computer has version 1.4.0 (Build 84). Is there any comment for this problem ?

Thanks for confirming the software version. To help test if it is permissions can you run CircuitStudio as administrator. One option should be a right click to Run as Administrator on the program (DXP.EXE).

Thank you for your time and attention. I already run the program as administrator mode but that is no change with normal mode. I tried to open old projects and it also couldn't open them but it can open schematics files.

You say you can open schematics. What happens if you try to open an existing PCB document (CSPcbDoc) rather than opening a project?

It could open and create seperately CSPcbDoc and SchDoc files but it couldn't create and open PrjPcb files.

It is possible the project file has become corrupt. Create a new project and then copy in the existing documents and add to project, hopefully this will solve your problem.

I can't create a new project. I also can't open created empty project files from another computer. Circuit Studio become corrupted on Windows 10 Pro when I try to open or create project file.

If you think it could be related to permissions then create a new directory, something like C:\AltiumProjects, and then try creating a new project in that directory or copying an existing one from the old computer there.
