Digi-Key supplier links not working

e14softwareuk

Just to let everyone know that it appears Digi-Key supplier links have stopped working with CircuitStudio, presumably due to a change at Digi-Key because there hasn't been an update to CS that I know about. I'll post a workaround/fix if one becomes available. Of course these are the element14 forums so I should really suggest using Farnell/Newark as your supplier image.

Update -- it seems the Digi-Key API used by CircuitStudio has been retired and won't be coming back. Please post below if you have been affected to give Altium some indication of the urgency with which a new software release will be required.

Speaking personally, I would like the Digi-Key data to be working. There are many components that aren't listed by Farnell/E14, so Digi-Key or Mouser are needed instead. Of course, we now know that the…

What would make this bug way more bearable is if I could use the cached Digi-Key data from my design... but alas it looks like all the functionality in that corner of the BOM configuration window is not working.

Here is a video showing what I mean:

e14softwareuk why can't I select a supplier from this drop-down and/or why is the "use cached pricing data in parameters if offline" option greyed out?

Have you seen this on the Digi-Key site?

    https://forum.digikey.com/t/digi-key-link-in-altium-circuit-studio-not-working/2622

It might be best to post an issue with the Digi-Key site on the Digi-Key site.

This is a Circuit Studio bug though, as my video shows.  The UI in the BOM configuration dialogue is broken in such a way that you can't use the cached data.  So this is an issue with Circuit Studio's supplier data caching system.

Also if you visit the link you just posted Digi-Key says its an Altium negligence issue (they didn't update their code in time despite advanced fore-warning of Digi-Key API changes)

For all intents and purposes, Peter Barnard is Altium (or at least represents us CircuitStudio customers to Altium's support staff).  I feel like they listen to him more than I.
