Altium Circut Studio Questions

Hi all,

I'm using circuit studio from atlium now for quite a while and i really like the tool. I came from EAGLE

But i have a few things that I have questions about and did not find any info on my own here

1.) Change the Designators of Parts  / Change all Layers?

In EAGLE, there was a feature where you could select all items on a layer (eg. Top Overlay) and then use a command to Edit content. The problem is, that when using different libraries and text, its likely that the font size and thickness is not all the same. I did not find a feature in Altium Circuit Studio to change all text on the Top Overlay to a desired value, ending in editing alot of text by hand.

Can this be achieved by another way?

2.) Low Ohm GND Via-ing

When operating with HF-Design (GSM,GPS etc) it is common to use alot of vias to connect gnd polygons with other gnd polygons. This is used because its lower resistance then a big central via. I saw quite a few altium circuit studio desings that were made like this, and the via placement looked like it was did automatic. Is this a feature? And if yes, where do i find it?

3.) Auto Space at Board edge

When using poligons in eagle, they were automatically doing a space section to the next board edge or hole or dimension layer item. In Circuit Studio when i place the Poligon, it goes right to the board edge. Sure it is possible to draw a slightly smaller poligon, but when using a 4-Layer and you change board dimensions, you have to adjust all the polygons by hand. Can this be automated?

Thanks for any answers!

    Hi JF,

For #1; Altium Designer has the find similar features function.  So for example, you could use filters to find all text on top overlay layer with arial font, size 10 with a string R1* and then edit it to a different font or size.  You end up having to pick each instance and move it about anyway but at least you can bulk select and edit quickly.

Please up vote the find similar features thread from a couple of days ago so hopefully we will all get this in the future.

Sadly, even if you can change text size and font at one time on many objects you still have to place and nudge them around to where they fit on the PCB, as you probably know.
