The compile process takes your schematic design and, using the netlist and symbol information along with project options, creates the data necessary for the PCB. There are also many project settings that can be configured including ECO (engineering change order) generation, output paths, print setups and project level parameters. Configurable electrical rule checks will help detect errors in your design, for example two output pins connected together.
