I can assure you that the webinar will not be trying to sell Altium Designer, it is dedicated to CircuitStudio.

Thank you. I've tried sending a couple of emails to get the link, but so far I haven't received any response. Is software@element14.com the correct address?

Hi Julian, many thanks for your feedback on the webinar. Many software vendors do charge for lapsed maintenance so a special mention was made so that people were aware this was not the case with CircuitStudio. As with any policy this could be revised in the future by Altium but at this time I do not know of any pending changes.

Sorry if we missed your question on offline installers. You can download a full installer, we can provide you a link if you email us directly (we cannot post publicly). Along with a self generated standalone license file you should be all set without having to keep backup VMs.

The webinar had a few useful tips. However, I'm rather underwhelmed by the features added in 1.5. I'm not sure if it really merits being called a .1 level update, more like 1.4.2. I also find it was a little ominous that one speaker talked about the unusual nature of not charging for expired maintenance when renewing - I can't help wondering if at some point this policy will change.

I don't get the feeling that Altium is really interested in CS (I suspect it hasn't really sold very well).

I would also be more comfortable if it was possible to download the _full_ installer, and not just the stub one. Full off-line documentation would be nice too. I noted that my question about having off-line installers wasn't answered. At present the best option is to keep an installed and registered VM backed up somewhere safe.

As for feature updates - it would be nice if scripts were better supported. Having a way to run them other than by searching for "run" would be nice! Fixing the colour selector bug for layers (the HSL/RGB settings are partially hidden in "View Configurations/2D Color Profiles/Custom") would be useful as well.

You may need to check your layer stack - do you have at least top and bottom copper defined.

    Thank you for your answer.

When I use a through-hole element, I can not choose the top or bootom layer - I need to choose a multilayer. Then no holes are visible on the PCB (on Assembly Drawing).

Hi Andrzej, think of 'multilayer' as a pretend (non-real) layer. You must draw your pads and tracks on the real copper layers (e.g. Top Layer, Bottom Layer) so that you can correctly route the board and generate manufacturing data. Use Project | Generate Outputs : Assembly Drawing : Configure... to set up which layers to print.

I have a problem with Assembly Drawings. I insert multilayer and is there there no visible pads and vias.

When I draw on the PCB track or fill on mulitlayer - they are visible on multilayer  in Assembly Drawings. Pads or vias are no visible - I do not understand why.
