TVS Diode for FM Radio Antenna Systems

ImageThe ESD5V3L1U-02LRH is our new diode designed for the ESD protection of electronic devices incorporating FM radio antenna systems. Placed behind the antenna, this diode can absorb ESD discharges of up to ±30kV (IEC61000-4-2 contact discharge) and thus protect ICs downstream of the RF-in port. Available in a 0402 EIA–equivalent package, this device is ideal for space-constrained applications as the small form factor means it can be easily integrated in front of the LNA.

Flanking the ESD0P2RF diode series, the new diode complements our antenna protection offering. The ESD5V3L1U-02LRH is the solution of choice for providing very low dynamic resistance/low clamping voltage in FM radio systems beyond the GSM environment. In the case of hostile interfering environments, the bidirectional ESD0P2RF series (already in mass production) is the preferred ESD solution.

FeaturesApplications

  • Enhanced ESD absorption capability of ±30kV contact and air discharge exceeding industry standard IEC61000-4-2
  • Ultra-low dynamic resistance of only 0.3Ω enabling excellent ESD clamping performance in low-voltage signal (max +5.3V) applications
  • Very low leakage current (less than 1nA) for  extended battery lifetime in portable electronics
  • Low capacitance of 1 pF (1MHz)
  • Leadless 0402 EIA-equivalent package (1.0x0.6x0.39mm) for PCB space savings
  • ESD5V3L1U-02LRH complies with RoHS and directive on elimination of halogen and is in mass production
  • ESD protection of devices incorporating FM radio antenna systems without GSM
  • ESD protection of keypad, touchpad, buttons and other general purpose applications
  • ESD protection of power lines
