    ABOUT THE IDEA

    2112-00.jpgPCUMID031FS00038_4_A380---Airbus-SAS-mod.jpg

The main objective of this idea is to improve air safety and avoid plane accidents and pilot errors by adding and integrating Intel Edison to aerospace industry.

Nowadays, most of plane accidents are caused by pilots(such as sabotage and suicide, like Germanwings 9525 crash) or by mechanical and maintenance problems. So I thought, why not to use Intel Edison to solve this problem?

My idea is to introduce Intel Edison to aerospace industry and make sure every plane has an integrated system that avoids pilot suicide and mechanical problems. The main role of Intel Edison is to communicate with air traffic control and provide the status of the plane, such as:

       >Gas Tank status, if it's losing gas

        >Doors status, if they are well closed

        >Flaps status

        >Motor status

        Etc..........

By providing this data, air traffic control can make sure the plane is going to arrive safely to it's destination without any mechanical problems.Intel Edison also saves time when checking the plane before flying, as it has access to all the mechanical parts.

And finally, the most important thing Intel Edison can do is control the plane.

Yes, that's possible, a tiny computer can manage and control the plane without the assistance of a pilot. With Intel Edison we can avoid suicide pilots by changing the flight mode to automatic, so a pilot located at ground station can manage and control the plane by communicating with Intel Edison. In this case, Intel Edison would close all doors located in the plane to avoid any suicide attacks.

Intel Edison would also work as a Black Box, by sending data to ground station every "X" seconds.

    black-box-rev-1000x667.jpg

Intel Edison would be a simple aluminium box connected to every electronic and mechanical component located in the plane, and it would analyze all the data provided by the different sensors located around the aircraft, and finally send that data to ground station.Intel Edison would also have:

      >a GPS system

       >a long life battery(8000mAh) system

       >a voice recorder system

       >a video recorder system

All those systems would be controled by Intel Edison
