    Hi Brian,

This may not be a technical question about one of your products, however i'm doing a project on writing an Industry Overview and need some information regarding Molex.

Would Molex be considered as an OEM or an ODM company? and what services does Molex provide to its customers?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello Marcus,

We would generally be considered an OEM though from time to time we do manufacture private label products.   Molex is a leading one-source supplier of interconnect products focused on the design, development and distribution of innovative product solutions. Our catalog is among the world's most extensive, with over 100,000 reliable products, including everything from electronic, electrical and fiber optic interconnects to switches and application tooling.  Molex serves customers in a variety of industries, including the telecom, datacom, computer/ peripherals, automotive, premise wiring, industrial, consumer, medical and military markets.

We have an integrated approach to product development and an active collaboration between our customers and Molex experts in R&D, sales, marketing and design engineering.  We are known for providing a continuous flow of innovation in areas such as high-speed signal integrity, miniaturization, higher power delivery, optical signal transmission and sealed harsh-environment connectivity.  When an off-the-shelf solution doesn't fit our customer's needs, we will work closely with their engineers to design a product that meets their mechanical and electrical requirements.  Our more than 1,000 electrical, mechanical and process engineers work out of Molex design centers in strategic locations across the world and Molex manufactures (molding, stamping, plating and assembly) its products in 59 plants that are strategically located across Asia, Europe and North America.

I hope that this helps you. Please let us know if you need any additional help or information.

    Thank you.
