Hi Everyone,

Would really like to get your feedback on the below (& attached) poster, all about Oscilloscope Fundamentals.

Is it useful, what other topics would you like to see covered ? (serial bus, probing etc..)

Thanks all for your input in advance!

Probe compensation in the first column appears to be a bit early. I would let the first time user to view a sine wave first, and postpone adjusting compensation to a later time.

I would put Autoset at the center for the first experience.

As next chapter after sine wave I would put inspecting the parameters of a square wave pulse - rise time, fall time, overshoot - and shortly tell what any of those can indicate.

don't take the "Autoset" button for granted. I've seen a lot of 50 Hz signals when people use bad probes or connections. Related to the autoset, getting a signal of 50 Hz (or 60 Hz) is mostly not what you want to visualize, and you've just created an antenna. Also, the higher you go in frequency, the shorter the ground connection should be for reliable measurements. High-quality probes are typically sold with long and short ground connection accessories.

    Hi Lee,

It might be good to mention to hit the Default Setup button first, in case there's some complex setup already on the instrument.

Maybe that could go as a first item in the Avoiding Pitfalls section, if it is not easy to add it to the five main steps.
