Tekscope software

Can someone help me with Tekscope sofware?

I just got a DPO7254, which is supposed to be compatible.

First question: I see a free version and I also see several paid versions. What gives?

I downloaded the free version. The GUI opens, but it does not see my scope (which is hard-wired to my network). How do I fix that? I found a user manual for TekScope but it must be for the paid versions because the instructions don't work with what I have downloaded.

I am just a home hobbying so I am not going to pay for it. I just wanted the convenience of grabbing screen shots from my desktop on the other side of  the room. 

Can I get this done or not?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately that's the wrong software, if any, it may be Tektronix OpenChoice Desktop which may work (and it is free). However, even that doesn't state that it supports the DPO7000 series, it may be too old.

    The PDF datasheet for the 'scope states that Windows Remote Desktop can be used, since the 'scope runs a Windows OS, so that is most likely a good option.

    You could also grab the data using serial commands (since the 'scope will support interfaces for that) with your own custom software perhaps, but that is a lot more effort.

    Hey,
    The 'TekScope Uitility' and 'TekScope PC' are both different software. For your use case: accessing scope on your pc over your LAN, I'd recommend getting TekScope by registering at TekCloud.com, and starting one of the TekScope trials. Which lasts 30 days, and then you can start a different trial for another 30 days. This software will suffice for your use case.
    Btw, you can also check out TekTalk for more help on Tek products. Its a dedicated forum for Tek's customers.

    Why does the OP need TekScope monthly trial?

    Shouldn't RDP work to provide screenshots from the 'scope hard-wired to his network, to the desktop PC, as the user requests?
