Element14 does not customise their stock enclosures

Hello Friends,

I am new here.

I have shopped several times on Element14. I like their price tags and services.

For my current project, I am looking for a small plastic or aluminium enclosures. I have found 2 target enclosures made by Hammond listed on Element14. However, Element14 service person replied me that they did not customise my target enclosures.

Without customisation, stock enclosures may be of little values in large number production.

Do you agree on my opinion?

Farnell appear to be able to offer customisation of a lot of their stock Hammond enclosures

That means only selected models can be customised.

Models which are rebranded to Multicmp Pro seems to be non-cusomizable as well.

Great circuit design, with super expensive premium parts, requires a great enclosure of the same league in order to be priced high.

Usually for a premium design, an industrial designer is hired for a custom design (or a custom face for an existing enclosure, e.g. a custom front end for an extruded chassis. Depends on the design brief.

But I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a firm to encase the design for you. Some firms make a living from taking hardware and fitting it into particular style enclosures (e.g. ruggedizing). There even used to be a firm that did that for premium-izing Nokia phones.

Typically, the minimum order is 25 units.
