Professional RS485 Shield for RPi

Hi,

I'm working actually on a professional RS422/RS485 shield for the Raspberry Pi. I wasn't satisfied with the shields on the market. They are very simple and have some disadvantages. My shield comes with the following features:

  • RS422 (full duplex) support
  • RS485 (half duplex) support
  • galvanic isolation between PI and interface
  • indicator leds for RX and TX activity
  • switchable pull-up, pull-down and terminal resistor
  • different modes for send/receive switching (Auto, GPIO, always transmitter, always receiver)
  • Auto switching via monoflop
  • all options adjustable via DIP switches

I'm curious about your feedback.

yes of course. RS485 is used in many applications and protocols: BACNET MODBUS DMX Door Access For now we try to test it more in detail and make some optimizations in the circuit.

We've finished an application not How to use DMX /RDM with this HAT

Furthermore we've made a enclosure set... here are some pictures:

the ports are low active. In high state (no traffic) both leds are off.

    Hi,

in the schematic why do you use P-channel MOSFETs, also on the cold side?

Are the ports low, or high active?

    Best Regards,

    Gerald
