  • I an interested in discovering the vast variety of uses for the Raspberry Pi 5 and anticipate the use of the device to regulate water level and temperatures for my aquaponic system. I grow fresh veggies and recycle waste water from my large tanks of tilapia farm fresh fish. I am attempting to get my system large enough to begin supplying a few restaurants with fresh greens and fish for their recipes. So far, I have had a few challenges maintaining temp and water levels as well as consistent flow rates for the water in the system. I only have to replace about 5% of the water monthly and with the recycling and re-use I expect to keep it going with minimal maintenance. This pi device (I envision) would be able to effectively control several pumps, heaters and provide me data on flow rates, contamination risks and yield.  Please let me know if this is a practical use for a low cost and highly efficient controller.

  • Well, I have a bunch of solenoids, half a dozen Analog Devices MAX2220ETJ SPI driver chips, a duoversity of RE935-02R/E breadboard adaptors, a couple of Proto Advantage PA0067-S QFN-32 solder stencils, a plethora of appropriately tuned aluminium tubes (oh, and a singular hopefully superfluous Arduino MKR ABX00011) with which to attempt the building - after some anticipated magically-smokey failures - of a midi-controllable chimer.image

  • I was planning on implementing a HA server in my home, but wanted some more load on the RPi (maybe a Wireguard server and some other little things).

    But with the power of the RPi5, now I know for sure it's all possible.
