In last years I used most time used Raspberry Pi for some kind of long-term automation. For example, last few months two of my Raspberry Pies was running experiments (one Rpi 4B and one 3B+) to evaluate…

I already have a Raspberry Pi Zero; I tried desktop on it, but Zero doesn't have processing power, which is why I need a Raspberry Pi 5.

I would probably set this up as a server to receive weather information, and display it on a smart mirror. It would get weather info from the home built station in my backyard.

I plan to build an autonomous submarine with initial guidance taking weather measurements with intervals, with the RPI 5's processing capabilities, it would be able to achieve such a feat. Also, it could run AI models and send data with much more information, such as trash belts, chemical levels, wave turbulence, etc.

I would finish porting some OpenFrameworks (C++) sketches and use it to control two other RPIs with small e-paper displays, synchronized via BLE. These are running a generative art system which is neither converting nor diverging based on particles flowing in a perturbed noise field. Each particle is an agent, with a specific behaviour, trying to be near other particles, but not too near, and if by chance they get propelled to near, they randomly explode outwards, similar to flocking behaviour. The system updates slowly, so the e-paper display is perfectly suitable. BLE synchronizes the framed displays - think of a painting or an engraving, in a wood frame, but slowly mutating, with the center "painting" getting input via its camera (placed strategically so as to not be too visible), and warping the noise field upon which the particles flow. No sound yet, i'm unsure if to add sound. It's a demanding task. Now with FLOSS drivers perhaps i could add (a LOT) more particles via Vulkan. The RP1 chip dealing with I/O seems to be promising to alleviate the CPU workload, so the Bluetooth BLE being handled separately would be good. The system seems more CPU bound that RAM bound, but of course, 8GB, 2 per core, would be great. Perhaps assigning cgroups to make 2 virtual "nodes", one pinned to the system, and the others to the user tasks would, specially with the new CPU, could allow more finer grained flow and noise fields. So many possibilities to explore....

    Ooooh yeah.
    its Finally here.
I am building an exoskeleton suit which is capable of defending the user from any kind of attacks.
also it can be used by anyone, whether they are disabled or not. It will be just like the Tuxedo suit. you dnt have to do
Anything. all my software part is complete. all i need is the RPI5.
I have been Waiting for This one. I was using my laptop to test my codes. Now i dont have to worry anymore.

Considering the power of pi 5 with cryptograpic support I would like to make a all in one open source AI powered home assistant hub with touch screen & camera, mediacenter for locally stored music video playback on tv, all using llama language model for interaction and control all smart devices with voice assistant locally inside the network, improved home network security & local DNS. with the help of high speed i/o support & power full SoC with LPDDR4x ram, i think all things can works smoothly and a scope of incuding more functionality with upcoming pcie 2.0 peripherals. Hope my dreams come true.
